GRITCamp will involve you choosing either a morning session or an evening session. You would commit to coming Monday through Saturday mornings or Monday through Friday evenings plus Saturday mornings.

Mondays 5:30am, Tuesdays 5:45am, Wednesdays 5:30am, Thursdays 5:45am, Fridays 5:30am, Saturdays 7am

This is for all types of fitness levels that can get up and down off the floor. Maybe you'll be slow to get up, but that's okay! We still want you! This is also for people who can do high intensity classes. We will give options for high intensity and options for lower intensity for those who aren't as in shape or have had injuries in the past that hinder them from taking higher options.

Who is GP GRITCAMP for?

Anyone desiring to jump start their fitness for 2020.

Anyone that has a desire to increase their cardiovascular health.

 

Is  GP GRITCAMP safe for beginners?

Yes, this program has been designed with you in mind. You can work at your own pace and rest when you need to. But remember, anything that pertains to the word GRIT is hard in itself.

 

What makes GP GRITCAMP different than GP GRIT and GP RPM?

The main difference is that this is a “sign up” program and not a drop in class.  

You will sign up for an AM or  PM session and go through the 21 days with your team learning proper form and techniques of your training. 

We believe we go further with others and while we do our best to practice this in all of our GP classes, there are times we do not get an opportunity to connect with everyone. GRITCAMP will help us all to get to know one another better and go further than on our own.

 

Why is it called GRITCAMP?

We have chosen the title GRITCAMP for the simplest meaning of Grit, defined as courage and strength of character, it is said to be a trait of perseverance. Courage and determination despite difficulty. Grit is learning to run the race as a marathon, not as a sprint. It is sticking with something day in and day out for success.

 

Our goal is to travel with you on this journey. Recognizing that 21 days will be difficult but acknowledging that with a common goal, there is “one significant characteristic of success… grit”  Angela (Duckworth). 

 

Grit is the relentless pursuit towards a desired goal and not giving up.

 

GRITCAMP will teach you to train your body physically and mentally so that when life challenges also known as adversity come around, you can spiritually, mentally and physically be prepared. Jesus tells us “The way is hard that leads to life.” (Matthew 7:14) Through training your mind and your body,  “By your endurance you will gain your lives.” (Luke 21:19) you will learn to endure, trusting the promises of Jesus.

 

Can I participate in any GRIT or RPM class?

No, participants that sign up for GRITCAMP will go to the session classes you signed up for:

AM session: RPM, M, W, F 5:30-6:15am

GRIT, T, Th 5:45-6:15am; Saturday 7-7:30am

PM session: RPM, M, W 6-6:45pm; F 5:15-6pm

GRIT, T, Thu 7:30-8pm; Saturday 7-7:30am (same as AM session)
 

What happens if I can’t make all the sessions of GRITCAMP?

You would let your team know that you will need to miss your scheduled session.  If space is available, we will offer the option to switch your session based on your schedule.

 

Can I participate in any other GP classes during GP GRITCAMP?

On RPM days, GRITCAMPERS can participate in other GP classes but if you are just getting started with fitness, it is not necessary.  

 

On GRIT days, GRITCAMPERS are NOT encouraged to take other classes (or engage in rigorous physical activity) except for BODYFLOW.

 

The secret to amplifying results is not adding volume, but intensity: in other words, more is not better!

 

Is Les Mills GRIT and RPM safe?

All Les Mills workouts are designed with set exercises that have safety and science at their core. They’ve all been tried and tested for safety and results. If you have any specific health concerns, check with your doctor before doing GP GRITCAMP.

 

I’m pregnant. Can I still do GP GRITCAMP?

No, women are advised to reduce their exercise intensity during pregnancy so GRIT would not be recommended.  You could participate in most of our regularly scheduled GP classes. We suggest talking to your doctor if you have any more questions about exercising while pregnant.

 

What are the benefits of 21 Day GRITCAMP?

Improved heart health; promotion of brain health; assist in keeping arteries clear; boosts mood and energy; increases metabolism; regulates weight and strengthens the immune system.

 

Research shows that it takes 21 days to build a habit, which stems from the mind, body connection of building a new thought. The goal with 21 days is to help you see that you CAN move your body.  A new thought pattern will start to where you will be encouraged to continue the healthy patterns that you started.

 

What happens after the 21 days?

We will encourage you to continue working out on your own or see what other programs we offer at the GP: Totally Fit Life, GP Group Fitness classes, personal trainer, at home workout with Les Mills On Demand (GP discounted rate), etc.

 

We will offer GRITCAMP three times a year, January; March; September

 

Is the 21 Day GRITCAMP a diet?

No. We will only be focusing on cardiovascular exercise.

 

Why should I sign up?

This 21 day camp will focus on the three C’s of the GP: Christ, Camaraderie and Cardio. We go further with others!  It’s FUN!
